The Screwtape Letters & Screwtape Proposes a Toast - C.S. Lewis I read this as a teen, back before I was an atheist. Lewis provides an entertaining and convincing voice for his demonic correspondent in this epistolary "novel," but make no mistake, it's a Christian apologetic, not a fantasy novel. It's a disquisition on the nature of sin and temptation from a very urbane demon's point of view. Lewis was an intelligent and entertaining writer, and this is something of a classic in Christian circles, but for the non-believer, be aware that it's basically a Chick Tract in the form of a book.
