Runaways, Vol. 1: Pride and Joy - Adrian Alphona, Brian K. Vaughan I've always kind of liked kid superheroes, and was a big fan of the Teen Titans back in the day. I haven't really been keeping up with the superhero universe for years, but this series was highly recommended, so I bought the first couple of trade collections. It was not too bad, though I found it a little too juvenile (for instance, one of the characters has a pet genetically-engineered velociraptor -- that's her "power" -- who is always attacking people but somehow never shedding blood). Those who do not like their comics "grim and gritty" will enjoy this, but on the other hand, there is nothing groundbreaking or moving about it.
