Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoyevsky, David Magarshack Another high school reading assignment. I actually read the whole thing. It didn't make a big impression on me, but I didn't hate it. I know it's supposed to be one of the greatest classics of all time, but it just taught me that great prose style does not make for likeable characters or a captivating plot.
